Thank you so much for this information. It was extremely frustrating trying to figure it out. I suspected lack of support for winXP and Opera.

A slight workaround that helps me is www.clip.dj. I was trying to dl a video from YT with grab++, but nothing ever appeared on monitor. clip.dj took it however, it is not always a good option, but better than none.

I would say the need for a update to Orbit is of extreme need. The high value Orbit have, is fading quickly if it's not working. /doh

Would be nice with advanced features like image view and siterip options to.

Just, don't do what so many other software developers do and totally mess up the interface. This is the reason I'm ripping YT, the UI is not comprehendable. Using old versions of multiple programs, simply cause the new versions are nothing, but junk.

Assume you guys who have made this extraordinary program called Orbit know this stuff already.

Well. I also expected bittorrent people to know this, but no. They went ahead and destroyed ther ui.

I'm having the same problem and is annoying..Can any one help please.
When I try to download using Grab++ It onlys picks up File 1.70MB and 2.34MB. I tried refreshing updates to the lastest version and nothing. Any help would be good Thanks

I've used Orbit for almost 2 years, and it's always been reliable - until a few weeks ago. If their intent (meaning Orbit) is to see how many people they can piss off, I'm sure there's a mob of pissed off users out there, and there is strength in numbers...

I found a way around it - by using Firefox and the Easy YouTube Downloader 5.9 extension. It actually works (as my experience has been) better than Orbit!

Now as always seems to happen, someone will whine that it's illegal (etc...) to download the videos, and people shouldn't do that - yeah right!

I've downloaded hundreds of videos - mostly aviation videos. I did so for my own viewing, and I don't share them or distribute them to others. So the ones who will whine can eat it!

I contacted 6 individual people who posted videos on YouTube to get a sampling of opinions - all 6 said to me that they have no problem with my having downloaded their videos. In my response I thanked them for posting the videos, and I complimented them on the quality, and was totally sincere in my compliments...

use older version of flash player might solve the problem.

I try uninstalled the latest version and installed Flash player ver 11.0.1.152, then the real video size is shown and can be download. Though sometimes(very rare) size did not shown at all and but shown again when I after refresh.

I notice this since my pc can download video without problem but my laptop can't and notice that it use older version of flash player.

Yeah I was having the same problem with orbit downloader and Youtube videos.  1.7mb chunks kept loading on the get it drop down window.  I noticed you can trick youtube into sending the whole file simply by changing the quality settings of the video in the lover right corner (the gray gear icon)   First pick a different quality, then pick the one you want to download start the video over from the beginning and there you go!  The whole file is there to download in Get It.  Hopes this helps. 

p.s. Also forgot to mention I'm using an old version of Firefox 3.6 something, but it works up until version 11 (not 12).  I like Orbit and it works well for me and I trust it and I don't want to learn a new program that may be unsafe.
