v2.8.17 causes pages to not load in Firefox 3.5.3

Although 2.8.17 is improved on YouTube pages with Firefox, I can't run it because it causes many web pages to not load.

This is consistent and 100% repeatable: Enable the Orbit FF addon, and some pages hang; Disable the Orbit FF addon, and those same pages load immediately. Not one time, not occasionally...EVERY SINGLE TIME!

Here are three of MANY examples of websites that won't load with the Orbit FF addon enabled:
http://crooksandliars.com/
http://www.prairie2.com/
http://www.salon.com/opinion/greenwald/

So, it's back to the previous version of Orbit for me, whose YouTube functionality is more broken than with even earlier versions, but at least it doesn't cause pages to not load.

Re: v2.8.17 causes pages to not load in Firefox 3.5.3

Hi all.

I got a similar issue with v2.8.17. I run Firefox 3.5.3 and Wamp server (apache) on Windows 7 x64. If the orbit plug-in for Firefox (now named OneClick YouTube Downloader) is ON, EVERY PAGES on my localhost server put ages to load. Stopping the add-on solve this problem, every time ! This fact do not exist on Internet Explorer (8.0) and pages load in a sec.

Hope it will help, looking for a futher fix, thank you dev team !

Re: v2.8.17 causes pages to not load in Firefox 3.5.3

I just re-installed Orbit Downloader 2.8.17 (was back to 2.8.16). As expected, the issue with pages on localhost came back. So I installed in firefox your new beta version. At first, it didn't fix anything. But when I opened the plug-in manager, I understood why : there was 2 versions of the "One Click Youtube Downloader" plug-in (1.0.1 & 1.0.2) so I disabled 1.0.1, restarted Firefox and then, the slow loading was gone. Too bad it didn't just update the old one, hope you will fix this in the classic installer.

Anyway, I'll work with this beta version and if I enconter a problem, I'll notice it to you. Thank you dev team, good work so far !

----------------------------

Edit : Well, it seems that I was wrong. This beta update didn't fixed anything. The pages were loaded fast beacause they were in the cache. But something is strange to me. My homepage in firefox is http://localhost/ and this one is displayed normaly, right after the web browser loaded. But if I clic on the Home button, then the loading is very long.

Re: v2.8.17 causes pages to not load in Firefox 3.5.3

I have some news for you.

Unfortunalty, this new release (still 1.0.2?) do not correct the loading time in localhost pages. But this time I tried something new. Instead of disabling the whole plug-in "OneClick YouTube Downloader", I just disabled its function to download by your option 'Enable Recoder' (the 2nd R is missing, even for the "Recoder Setting" option ^_^) in the Firefox Tools menu". This solved the loading issue on localhost and now everyting seems to work fine ! Re-enabling it recreate the problem.

Good luck on it, thank you !

Re: v2.8.17 causes pages to not load in Firefox 3.5.3

Same problem here with YouTube Downloader 1.04. Firefox 3.5.5 would load for example, Google homepage but all other tabs come up blank, even Google news, etc, after that initial load. Rebooted, etc didn't help but disabling the downloader fixed the problem instantly and pages load fine. However, this was the first time I'd noticed the problem and it had been installed for a couple of days, so I"m wondering if another conflict may also be involved.

Finaly, it seems that the issue causing firefox loading localhost pages slowly is realy no more. Since Orbit 3.0.0 and Firefox 3.5.7 (I installed them both the same day), avarything work really as it should, recorder enabled. Thank you for your hard work on it ! Really, thank you orbit team !

As the originator of this topic, I am happy to report that I, too, with the release of 3.0.0, am finally able to run the OneClick YouTube Downloader in FF without it causing pages to hang. I'd tried every version after 2.8.16, and now it looks like I can finally upgrade. YEA!
