It was annoying that this software updater showed up occasionaly, so i looked for option to turn it off. I found it and unchecked it, but still i get notifications of software updates. How can i turn this notifier off?
P.S. Shareaza version is reported from wrond shareaza site. www.shareaza.com was somehow taken (hacked) over by some jerks that developed similar software (total crap) and named it Shareaza so users who doesnt pay atention doesnt notice that sowtware is totaly different. They hacked main server and made so that original Shareaza software was updated with this fake one. Real (original) Shareaza is http://shareaza.sourceforge.net

Please, Please, Please, provide an option to disable softupdater! Even better is to provide the option during installation to not install.
I do not want it for several reasons. 1) It is inaccurate 2) It doesn't have the option to customize which to check and which to ignore. 3) It should have a feature for how often to check 4) I don't understand how it can say there is an update but can't provide the link to the website 5) It is not what I want from a download manager 6) It is an unwanted overhead.

There are some softwares that the updater couldn't stop even you already stop it...
But all i can say is be patient..

I agree with the first two posts. I do *NOT* want this feature; I will never use it and it is only bloat that I do not need. I do not mind that it exists, but I really, REALLY want the ability to turn it OFF.

Problem solved!
Adding software updates are very harmful to the orbits and users.
This must be removed completely from the program.!
In the meantime, to address this issue, and the closure of the accident programs to remove from the program folder, this drive C\Program Files\Orbitdownloader\SoftUpdater.dll and problems no more!
To delete SoftUpdater.dll

Thank you for the hack. I've turned off Software Updater by renaming the file to SoftUpdater.dll.OFF.
In principle, the service is useful. Unfortunately, the Web site the service points to, <www.recipester.org>, lists beta versions and release candidates as the latest release of software, often without stating so.
I already use Secunia PSI <http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal/> & CNET TechTracker <http://www.cnet.com/techtracker-free/> to keep my software up to date. CNET TechTracker occasionally lists a beta version as the latest release, but update their database quickly in response to feedback.

Dakota,
Thanks so much for that very simple way of getting rid of that software updater. I followed your instructions. I rebooted my PC, found the file and deleted it. It worked like a charm!

Where can I get a previous version of Orbitdownloader without the Software Updater? I have already uninstalled orbit...

Under System, press on the symbol Software Upgrade. Then Simply select the option Upgrade Now. Once you have visited on the Software Upgrade option the window will now open with the list of up-dates for PC. If you do not wish to update all the programs programs right now.

In concept, the assistance is useful. Unfortunately, the Website the assistance details to, details try out variations and launch applicants as the newest launch of application, often without revealing so.
