RAPIDSHARE Premium Multiple Download HOWTO

For all those that have had trouble using rapidshare priemum to download multiple files (also these files are examples and are not valid links):

1. Set up rapidshare to download links directly

1.1 Go to rapidshare.com > Priemum Zone > Priemum Zone Login > Options
1.2 Check Direct-downloads
1.3 Click Save

2. Now open up your IE Browser (Not Firefox cause Orbit only uses IE Cookies)

2.1 *Vista & Windows 7 Only* - Right click your I.E. icon and run as administrator (Thanks Oldhippy68!!)
2.2 Throw in a working rapidshare link eg: http://rapidshare.com/files/4724217/part01.rar
2.3 Enter your account details and progress until you are presented with a download dialog box > Cancel it.
2.4 Re paste in your rapid share link eg: http://rapidshare.com/files/4724217/part01.rar

This time you should be immediatley be presented with a dialog box > Cancel this one too

3. Open up orbit

3.1 Click New and paste in your rapidshare link
3.2 Click OK and it should begin downloading (If everything went ok then it wont be 5.9kb)

--Downloading--

4a. Downloading Via a text file:

4a.1 To download multiple files create a text file with all your links in it: eg:

http://rapidshare.com/files/4724217/part01.rar
http://rapidshare.com/files/4725121/part02.rar
http://rapidshare.com/files/4726089/part03.rar
http://rapidshare.com/files/4726955/part04.rar
http://rapidshare.com/files/4727735/part05.rar

4a.2 Orbit > File > Import List > Change extension to .txt > Select your file

4b Downloading Via Clipboard

4b.1 Right Click on the Orbit tray icon > Select Clipboard monitoring
4b.2 Highlight all your links and press Ctrl-C (Copy)

Done! - Firefox will work now also!

Oh and thanks for making such a great free program. I love it!!!! big_smile

Re: RAPIDSHARE Premium Multiple Download HOWTO

Another tip if you enable clipboard monitoring (right click on the tray icon) you can just select the links and hit control-c (or right click -> copy) Instead of pasting them in a file.

Re: RAPIDSHARE Premium Multiple Download HOWTO

Thank you for your HowTo. Unfortunately it didn't work for me. I'm still getting those crappy 5.9kb files (it's the free/premium chose-page).
I'm getting crazy about that... I'm using Windows Vista, IE 7 and FF.

Any hints?

Re: RAPIDSHARE Premium Multiple Download HOWTO

Which part of the howto did it fail at:
Part 2 - the direct linking from IE failed? (did this part work?)
or
Part 3 - New link failed in orbit?

also another thing to try would be to delete all cookies from firefox.. and try the direct linking (2.3) through there. I use IE6 which could be the problem. make sure you can access files instantly (Part 2) through both your browsers.

Re: RAPIDSHARE Premium Multiple Download HOWTO

Hi...first post here, but I'm having some troubles downloading from my premium Rapidshare.com account also.

Works fine if I do one link at a time, but when i paste the links into a text file (6 of them..OR 1 at a time) it looks like its been successful, but 7 seconds later they are all 'complete'.  When I then try and open the rar file I get 'the archive is either in unknown format or damaged'.

I know the files are ok as I can download them manually.

Apologies if this is covered in another thread...I couldn't find one...Am I doing something wrong?

* Edit - using XP...nothing fancy, simple setup!

I'm using a dual boot XP and Vista system, and am having the same problem with but only in Vista, and I'm using the same program version on both operating systems.  I didn't have to go through a complicated setup to get Orbit working in XP and I tried switching to Flashget in Vista, but am having the same problem.

Re: RAPIDSHARE Premium Multiple Download HOWTO

If your files are about 5.9kb you are most likely downloading the free/priemum choose page. Make sure that part 1 adn 2 is working fully in firefox and IE (i.e that if you put in the address you dont hit a web page - the file immediatly downloads)

1. Set up rapidshare to download links directly

1.1 Go to rapidshare.com > Priemum Zone > Priemum Zone Login > Options
1.2 Check Direct-downloads
1.3 Click Save

2. Now open up your IE Browser (Not Firefox cause Orbit didnt use my firefox cookies)

2.1 Throw in a rapidshare link eg: http://rapidshare.com/files/4724217/part01.rar
2.2 Enter your account details and progress until you are presented with a download dialog box > Cancel it.
2.3 Re paste in your rapid share link eg: http://rapidshare.com/files/4724217/part01.rar <------ *** at this stage it should immediately download __ make sure it is! ***

Also I run this on XP... can anyone confirm this works with Vista?

Re: RAPIDSHARE Premium Multiple Download HOWTO

I can confirm that this works with Vista Home Premium. Cheers for the guide moloth. It takes a while to get used to it though.

labky

1/ When you first copy a RS link the Orbit d/l box opens, make sure and hit cancel.

2/ Paste that link into your address bar in IE and if the Orbit d/l box opens in the bottom left where it says the file size check to see if its more than 5 K/B's.

3/ If another d/l box opens then cancel that too until you see the Orbit box with the correct file size.

4/ When that works I found it useful to pause the d/l's when you are getting the next links e.g part 2 of the links on RS. It takes a second or 2 for the correct file size to appear, if it doesn't check your settings again.

I hope that all works for ya.

Also does anyone know how to set up Orbit so that 1 d/l starts after another is finished, i.e. consecutively rather than simultaneously (excuse the spelling)

Re: RAPIDSHARE Premium Multiple Download HOWTO

Hello.

Instead of us doing tricks that either work (it worked for me but not for a friend's PC) or don't, wouldn't it be more convenient for all, if the devs would work on this issue?
The topic has 10 replies and 2940 atm views , maybe the devs could see the importance of this feature for their product.

Thanks.

Re: RAPIDSHARE Premium Multiple Download HOWTO

Hmm.. I had some strange experiences on a buddies computer (was XP tho)... But to get it woking on his I also had to go to:

Tools > Preferences > Site Manager:

Site: http://rapidshare.com/
username:your_rapidshare_username
password:your_rapidshare_password

Does this help anyone?

Re: RAPIDSHARE Premium Multiple Download HOWTO

Moloth nice effort of you but this whole '5kb issue' is obviously a programming fault - the option you are refering to, should login you in rapidshare, so that you dont have to do it through the browser. That way Orbit downloads directly.

I am using flashget for the past two days, and besides the spam with the ads, the programm works flawlessly with rapidshare since first launch. That is why rapidshare themselves recommend only 3 specific download managers that work good with their service - and this advice I followed, to my benefit so far.

Re: RAPIDSHARE Premium Multiple Download HOWTO

Well i have gotton it to work on 4 XP SP2 computers so far so I personally have no problem... but since I refuse to downgrade to Vista I cannot vouch for it.  I haven't heard from anyone on this thread if they have gotten it to work with Vista.. so yea its probably a Vista or IE7 bug.

Oh the 5kb files if you rename them to .html are most likely the Free/Premium selection page.

Re: RAPIDSHARE Premium Multiple Download HOWTO

I have been successful downloading from rapidshare.com with Orbit and FireFox:

How:

1. Allow direct downloads (see post #1)
2. Before download, I login to rapidshare
3. Paste the directlink URL, and press enter
4. Voila! An Orbit "New Download" dialog box pops up with all relevant cookies filled.
5. Click OK, done smile

I have been queueing up to 40 downloads from rapidshare this way; never failed! smile

Re: RAPIDSHARE Premium Multiple Download HOWTO

I have found an easier way for RapidShare Premium downloads using FF+Orbit: Install the FlashGot extension.

First, in preferences, put in your rapidshare account name & password.

Next, install the FlashGot extension (not FlashGet! FlashGOt!)

Make sure FlashGot connects to Orbit.

Ensure that Direct-Download is enabled in Rapidshare.

Don't log out of rapidshare, just close its tab.

Next time, when clicking a download link from Rapidshare, always choose FlashGot instead of Orbit Downloader.

I've tried, and it works splendidly big_smile

Orbit + FlashGot! = EXPLOSIVE DUO!
I'm using this combo for almost a year now, and it works like charm!

Re: RAPIDSHARE Premium Multiple Download HOWTO

Well is it still working today?  Is the RapidShare.com site down or overloaded?  This approach was working perfectly right up to last Thursday (January 24 2008) at exactly 4:00PM (EST, GMT-5).  And I mean PERFECTLY smile Right up to my network capacity!  I even hit the 25GB/5days limit and had to continue using a second account (see my other post about this ).

Now I can barely log on to the site manually.  If I can get through I often only get those dreaded 5KB files instead of the (mostly) 100MB RAR files I asked for.  Any idea why?  Thanks!

BTW: Direct Downloads is active in my RapidShare premium account.  The cookie is OK (I checked).  I even logged to RapidShare.com using IE (that I normally don't use anymore) instead of Firefox, all to no avail!

I have done all the steps above.  When i download with ORBIT, "connec failed, socket error 1104". i think my setup connection for Orbit is wrong, but i can't seem to find the problem.  I'd be appreciated if anyone can tell me what is wrong or how to fix it!

Re: RAPIDSHARE Premium Multiple Download HOWTO

If this tool actually did support REDIRECTS just like every other downloading programs does, there wouldn't be any need to allow direct downloads at Rapidshare.
